Welcome! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look around my little space.
Most importantly, I am an {Army} wife and mommy to this precious little thing. I'm in my 6th year of teaching--the first 4 years teaching 4th grade in NC, last year here in Florida in 3rd, which is where I still currently am. I'm in the process of getting my Master's from The University of West Florida in Educational Leadership.
In my classroom I constantly change things. I do believe in consistency, but I also think doing the same thing over and over just because doesn't work for kids. I like to try new things, keep what works, change what doesn't, and involve my students in the process. Learners need to be aware and in charge of their own learning.
I love interactive notebooks, cutting and gluing and all. We have notebooks for all subjects, keeping records of what we've learned and re-visiting what we've forgotten. I love task cards and the independence they offer, which is why I offer a variety of them in my TPT and TN shops.
I believe in rigor and a good close read, but I also know kids are still kids, and love a good thematic unit with a craft at the end. Parties still happen, though they may by called a "learning celebration." ;)
Stay a while, look around, and leave me a comment. I love interacting with other teachers and sharing ideas.
Be blessed, friends.
Wow, I have been teaching in the last 22 years in private schools and have met or worked with so many teachers especially from; USA, Canada, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. I really support and admire your views in the classroom practice. Congratulations with your masters qualifications.
