I'm excited to link up for the first time with Holly from Fourth Grade Flipper! This is where you can blog about any"thing" you have tried... whether it worked or not!
Game Cards/Task Cards Organization
Laminating at my school is done for us. We gather all the items we need laminated, label them, and place them in the media center. While this is very nice and time-saving, it doesn't let me keep it organized, and I end up with long pages of task cards or game cards that are all mixed up--resulting in having to reorganize them. In order to solve this problem, I use stickers. Simple, everyday stickers most teachers already have in their rooms. I first divide the cut-out cards into groups. Then, I (or my students) place matching stickers to group them by set. So if I had 4 groups of game cards, I would need 4 types of stickers.
This is what they look like post lamination:
Here you can see 3 different sets of cards. |
Then, I put them into separate zip-lock bags and place them, along with the game boards or recording sheets, into manila folders. Super easy!
Don't forget to go link up with Holly!
Isn't it funny how something that is supposed to be so helpful can end up being more work! It's great that they laminate for you, but then everything is all shuffled up! I learned a few years ago about putting stickers on things...it's very handy! I forget to do that, sometimes, though! Thanks for the reminder!

This is a great idea. Having stickers on the back would allow me to have my kiddos help me organize it.

It's helped me out greatly! Thanks for dropping by, Bethany! :)
DeleteI love this idea! It is probably helpful even after laminating - somehow center materials and game pieces have a tendency to wander into the wrong folder in my class!

That's a great idea! I can have volunteers laminate, but I just end up doing it myself for the very reasons you've said. I'll try stickers next time!

I was really jealous when I first read that someone laminates for you! Then, I thought about getting it all back mixed up. Your idea of stickers is genius and I bet it helps out later too:) Thanks for linking up!
